Some months ago, living in Vietnam would be an impossible dream, something you don’t even think about. But then, something amazing happens and before you realize you are taking an airplane ready for a 30 hours travel that will change your life. At least, that was what happened to me.
As a Colombian Marketing Director and Entrepreneur, I have been living in many countries such as Chile, Argentina and United States, I thought it was enough. Now, being in Vietnam I realized that I couldn’t be more far from the truth. Vietnam is a country full of very friendly people and many opportunities waiting to be discovered.
Off course the language is a barrier, Vietnamese is not an easy language to be learned in a few months as a Professor Assistant, but it isn’t something to worry about. I have been in Thai Nguyen just for 3 days but English and sign language have been enough to communicate with people, make new friends and have a normal live, something that in Colombia would seem crazy.

I am going to teach some seminaries about Marketing, Enterprising Management, Communications and Professional Skills, and some other subjects, it’s going to be great to share with students that has a really different perspective about almost everything and see how do those differences can construct knowledge and experiences that will teach me a lot and will help the students to have an international mind.
What to say about the first days in Vietnam? Well, first of all is nothing similar to the movies. Friendly people, delicious food and nature are everywhere. Even though I was used to go in my car to every single place, getting a bike for my daily life it’s a healthy change, and something you really enjoy when you see the lakes and the mountains surrounding you.
Life is an adventure, you don’t want to miss any opportunity to build yours and I couldn’t be more thankful with ISTNU for letting me change my life inside a big office to a wonderful and, still, mysterious new world that will give me more wisdom and experiences than any high charge in Colombia
